A lot to catch up on already! Fortunately I have some time as the rest of the family are either snoring next to me or chain – going Peppa Pig in their cabin.
We arrived to Castelnaudary at 2pm and had the boat explained to us. I’m not a complete stranger to boats but had forgotten you need to know a surprising amount about electrics, engines and most mysterious of all, marine toilets. Fortunately navigation is very simple (follow the canal) and driving it is straightforward too. The boats here all have little bow thruster jets, which I kind of regard as cheating…but I’m still using.
We stayed in Castelnaudary for dinner, eating what else but cassoulet. We went to Chez David, a cool place, run by guys clearly into their music, and their little restaurant filled up no problem, despite the town feeling quite, well really, quiet. Awesome cassoulet.
