My schedule’s clearly shot to pieces, but today was a beautiful day and I managed to sneak in the remaining local stage – Jubilee to Wembley Park, Metropolitan one stop to Preston Road, then jog over to South Kenton to start section 10.

I know most of this area quite well, but enjoyed seeing some new parts of Fryent Country Park. It reminds me of Wimbledon Common, i.e. it’s very easy to get lost in as there are no signs and plenty of woodland and gradients, as well as some pleasant open meadows. I popped out of the wood at the top of a rise with a wonderful panoramic view which was worth stopping to unstrap the phone for:

My audio choice was Adam Buxton’s chat with David Mitchell, followed by a smidegen of Above and Beyond Group Therapy.
That means I’ve now done sections 10-14 inclusive. If I can fit in a bike from Beckton to Crystal Palace this week, that would mean I’m on 9 sections done with 6 remaining, and those 6 would be in places I at least kind of know a bit (unlike Falconwood – the nearest I’ve been to that area was starting the 2002 London Marathon in Blackheath). Fingers crossed for getting everything else squared away early this week.
