I’d scoped out a route using my new favourite app, Footpath, and I had a very pleasant run round the Alster. The Alster looks like a lake, but is technically a bit of a tributary that feeds the Elbe. Lots of other runners and cyclists were doing the same thing, all very cheerful. Many of the runners, of all ages, looked exceedingly fit and sporty, and several were bizarrely nicely coiffed and with make-up applied – presumably running to work? Not sure I’ve seen such glam runners in London…but maybe that’s because I mainly run in Brent, perhaps? 😉
