Split

We’d decided on a bit of a whim a day or so ago to look at Split entertainment options on Get Your Guide and saw a speedboat half day trip. Thankfully, the group decision was to book it – yes, it was £45 a head, no discount for kids, but…it was great. Two stops at islands with bars and swimming, a last stop at Trogir with tons of restaurants (we sat on the only bench in the shade and ate what we’d brought with us – we hadn’t expected there’d be so many refreshment options, I was thinking it would be us + boat only!), a nice boat with a shade cover, only 12 passengers, decent music and nice host.

After this thoroughly enjoyable jaunt, we were happy to go back to the apartment and loll by the pool. We had dinner at a local place called Pimpinella which was…ok. Food fine, wine fine, but the waiter handed over a huge book of a menu with very brief descriptions (no pictures – if the description isn’t clear, I have no problem with photos of dishes), and then: no lamb chops (but veal chops, fine); no octopus (only in winter); no tuna (not sure why). So 4 out of 10, really. Lollies and cornettos from the nearby Spar, and finished the rosé on the balcony. A fine day. 🙂
